JAIPUR The "pink city" and Rajasthan colourful capital, is full of things to see and do.The capital of Rajasthan was founded by Swai Jai singh 11 in 1727 A.D. He was not only a great ruler, but also a renowed mathematician and astrologer. Jaipur is also called as the first planned city of the country. It was designed by vidyadhar bhattacharya as per the hindu treatise, shilp shastra.

There are impressive monuments, an excellent range of handicrafts, a wide verity of cuisine, and entertainment that can keep you enthralled for days. In fact, you will find yourself wanting to extend your holidays. It`s a city that can cast its spell on you from the moment you arrive.

JAIPUR important places to see are the city palace, Statue Circle, Jaigarh Fort, Jantar mantar, Hawa Mahal, Ramganj Bazar, Galtaji Temple, Moti Doongri Temple, Govind Dev Ji Temple, Gaitore Chhatris and Birla Temple etc. Jaipur is also a shopper`s paradise, with its rich treasure of bewitching Silver Jewellery.

CITY SIGHTS
AMER FORT (11 KMS.) It was the capital of Kachhwahas for six centuries before the foundation of Jaipur. Amer, stands a top a range of craggy hills. The fort is remarkable as much for the majestic grandeur of its sourranding as for its sturdy battlements and beautiful places. It is a fine blend of Hindu and muslim architecture.

HAWA MAHAL (The palace of winds )
Located to one side, but a part of the city palace complex, Hawa Mahal is best viewed from the street outside. If it were not for the bustling bazaar all around, it would have been easy to mistake it for a film set, so exqusitely is it proportioned, and so incongruous is its delicacy. Hawa Mahal consists of five tiers of corridors on the inside, with pierced screen windows that overlook the street below. It is believed that women of the royal zenana would sit concealed behind these screen to see life in the city beyond the walls of the palace.

JANTAR MANTAR
A stone observatory, part of the City Palace complex, Jantar mantar is one of several other astronomical observatories created by Maharaja Swai Jai singh 11 (others are in delhi, Banars, Ujain). Jai singh 11 had a passion for astronomy and used astronomical inventions from different cultures in the creation of these observatories, the largest of which is in Jaipur.

CENTRAL MUSEUM
is housed in the Albert Hall in the Ram Niwas Public Garden, south of the old city. Exhibts include models of yogis adopting various positions, tribal ware, dioramas depicting various Rajasthani dances and sections on he decorative arts, musical instruments and tribal costumes. To the right of Albert Hall is the Durbar Hall and it houses a collection of old carpets, some 400 years old.

EXCURSION
SAMODE: Samode is an hour`s drive from Jaipur , 45 km away. The 400-year-old palace has a Wealth of frescope , many of them depicting religious subjects. The highlight is Durbar hall.

PUSHKAR: It is 11kms from Ajmer along the picturesque pushkar lies the tranquil town with deep religions significance `Nag Pahar` or snke Mountain forms a natural boundary between Ajmer and Pushkar The lake with 52 ghats and an array of temples along the banks is an important pilgrimage center of Hindus.

SEASONS: The best season to visit Jaipur (Rajasthan) is (September to March)

SHOPPING: Jaipur is a treasure trove for the shopper, and there is everything here that the heart desires. Excursions Jaipur

Jaipur is one of the most alluring cities of Rajasthan, India. Every year, people from all over the world come to explore the majestic city of Jaipur. There are numerous Tourist Attractions In Jaipur; still the Jaipur city offers many other places in the suburbs to satisfy the appetite of tourists. You can visit Abhaneri, a small town, popular for its astonishing step wells and Harshad Mata Temple in Jaipur. On the other hand, Sanganer is famous for manufacturing the quality hand-made paper in India.

Rajasthan is famous for its traditions and culture. Keeping the traditions, Bagru is a small village in Rajasthan, where you can see the traditional block-printing without any modern adulterations in its process. Karauli
Karauli is a small village, situated at a distance of 182 km from Jaipur. Founded in 1348, Karauli is well-known for its Madan Mohanji Temple. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna. Initially, the town was known as Kalyanpuri, which was named after the local deity Kalyanji.

Ramgarh
Ramgarh is located at a distance of 25kms from the city of Jaipur. In the present day, this primeval spot is eminent for its huge artificial lake. This lake has been shaped by raising a high bund amidst the hills covered with trees.

Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park is located in the eastern part of Rajasthan at a comfortable distance of 130kms from Jaipur. Nestled between the Aravali and Vindhya mountain ranges, Ranthambore National Park used to be the hunting ground of Maharajas of Jaipur. The Park is an eye treat for the lovers of wild-life. Sanganer

Abhaneri
Abhaneri is a small town village, situated at a distance of 95 km from Jaipur, on Jaipur-Agra road. The place is popular for the amazing 'Baoris' (step wells) and Harshat Mata Temple. The village of Abhaneri is believed to be established by the King Raja Chand.

Sambhar
Sambhar is a small town, located at a distance of 60kms in the west of Jaipur, on Jaipur-Ajmer Highway. Sambhar Lake is famous for the largest saline lake in India. Due to this fact, Sambhar is also known as Salt Lake City. Literally, Sambhar means salt and the lake has been providing salt for over a thousand years.

Tonk
Tonk is a small town, located at a distance of 96 kms from Jaipur. This little town of Tonk is also known as the "Lucknow of Rajasthan" due to its elegance. Tonk City is popular among tourists for its magnificent mosques, mansions and havelis.

Bairath
Bairath is a place of historical significance, located at a distance of 86 kms from Jaipur, on Shahpura-Alwar Road. Bairath is said to have existed from the times of Mahabharata. In that period, Bairath was known as Virata Nagar. It used to be the capital of Abhimanyu's (Arjuna's son) father-in-law.
